Transformed from an "ugly duckling" post office to executive newspaper offices, the Marin Scope Building now enhances the entrance into downtown Sausalito for those arriving from the north. Its Cape Cod gray shingles and crisp white classical details express both its urban and waterfront setting, plus belie its surprising modern interior of soaring ceilings and polished black granite floor. The loft's private offices are accessed via a clear glass and steel stairway and overlook the owner's collection of antique race cars grouped around custom designed work stations finished with an unusual curly maple imported from Italy.
